Harmine, also known as 7-methoxy-1-methyl-beta-carboline, is a naturally occurring alkaloid from Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) and yage vine (Banisteriopsis caapi). It is a harmala alkaloid, and is one of the active components of ayahuasca, a hallucinogenic entheogen. It has no psychoactive or intoxicating effects on its own but may orally activate or potentiate other substances.
Harmine is closely related to harmaline, harmol and harmalol. It belongs to a class of compounds known as beta-carbolines. Harmine is an MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitor) or RIMA (reversible inhibitor of monoamine oxidase). Our product is organically sourced, derived from Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) seeds, and is 100% naturally produced. Our product is 100% pure harmine hydrochloride isolate and is separated completely from any residual harmaline or other harmala alkaloids.
This compound is NOT for human consumption and is available for research purposes ONLY. Available as the hydrochloride salt.
