4-AcO-DET, aka 4-acetoxy-N,N-diethyltryptamine or ethocin acetate, is a novel synthetic tryptamine and is the diethyl structural homologue of psilacetin. It acts as a prodrug for ethocin (4-HO-DET) and readily hydrolyses into ethocin in the presence of alkaline or acidic solutions, or simply from exposure to moisture and humidity. It does not need enzymatic metabolism to convert into ethocin and the conversion can take place using only vinegar or citric acid.
It is NOT intended for human consumption, and is strictly for laboratory reagent or forensic analysis purposes ONLY. It is available only as the fumarate salt.
