4-AcO-DET, aka 4-acetoxy-N,N-diethyltryptamine or ethocin acetate, is a novel synthetic tryptamine and analogous chemical compound to psilocybin. It is the acetyl ester of ethocin (4-HO-DET), and acts as a prodrug for ethocin. It readily hydrolyses into ethocin in the presence of alkaline or acidic solutions, or simply from exposure to moisture and humidity. Therefore ethocin can be described as a secondary metabolite of 4-AcO-DET.
It is NOT intended for human consumption, and is strictly for laboratory reagent or forensic analysis purposes ONLY. It is available only as the fumarate salt.
